Excellence Award received with gratitude!

Excellence

The word ‘excellence’ would have to be one of my favourite words! I love the way a word can change your mindset, lift your Spirit and motivate you towards even greater exploits . Words have power… we can speak life or death into a person with the words we choose. That’s why I love the word ‘excellence’, to say something is of excellence is to see the value and treasure hidden within. Long ago I resolved to speak life into every person, every situation and circumstance so I am thrilled to be nominated for the Excellence Award by Eric http://hunt4truth.wordpress.com/  so that now I have yet another opportunity to ‘call out the treasure’ and declare ‘excellence’ over the following blogs.

Award ‘dearest’ Nomination.

liebster-awardOkay, I have seen the Liebster Blog Award award often displayed in the blogging world, but I never really understood what exactly it meant until I was nominated by Mel Wild. Mel hosts a blog that is a MUST for those that hunger for the deeper thing’s of God, find him at: http://melwild.wordpress.com. Mel has done some research into what this award is all about, he found out that Liebster means “dearest” in German. So, that’s awesome! I am all for sharing info on some of the ‘dearest’ blogs I follow and graciously accept this award from a fellow ‘dearest’ blogger.

From what I understand, to accept the nomination and help increase awareness of some great bloggers, I need to do the following variation of the rules:

  • Accept the award by posting the logo on your site, thanking and linking back to your nominator. One doesn’t have to participate, but what does it hurt?
  • Explain the rules of the award
  • Answering a set of questions asked of you by your nominator
  • Nominating 5-10 blogs you wish to recognize (with 200 WordPress followers or less), notifying them by commenting on their site and…
  • Interviewing your nominees with a set of 10 questions

Here are the questions Mel asked me to answer about myself:

1. What does writing do for you?

Writing helps me to unpack all that is in my heart, a place where I can come and be myself, reflect upon life and hopefully inspire others to run life’s race with great endurance.
2. What writer feeds your soul? Why?

I am in a ‘season’ of life where everything I read is nourishment for my Spirit… so, I love to read Bill Johnson, Randy Clark, Timothy Keller and anything C.S Lewis. Because these authors inspire & encourage me to ‘come up higher’.
3. What is your favorite subject (category) to write about?

Aww that’s easy, I love to write about the goodness of God.
4. What post of yours means the most to you? Why?

Affliction Eclipsed By Glory. This post is about the moment I felt the tangible presence of God after giving birth to my second daughter… previously I had a stillborn baby boy and had carried a deep dark depression (affliction) upon me up until I held my healthy baby girl in my arms. In this moment the affliction paled and I was immersed in His Presence.
5. What about you will be most instrumental in God’s eternal plan for you, whatever that may be?

According to many prophetic words spoken over me, God is using my pain (grief & depression) to literally set captives free from overwhelming darkness and release joy & hope into their situation!

6. What are you most passionate about in ministry and/or life in general?

Passionate about women getting a heart revelation of the Father’s love.
7. If your writing were discovered a thousand years from now, what would people learn about you, today’s world, and your interests?

People would learn that I am an overcomer with fierce determination to win life’s battle’s, they would learn that this world is starved of Truth, and my interests… share the Good News.
8. Talk about meeting your favorite Bible character (not Jesus).

Thomas is my favourite because I totally understand the doubt that can plague one’s mind, he inspired me to search for answers when I was in a crisis of faith and had no faith left.
9. Describe your writing process for something that moves you deeply.

Writing, for me, is difficult. I must be inspired to write, it must be significant and impact the reader in a very real way. I wait on God, pray & then start to tap away on the keyboard (most times with tears in my eyes).
10. Describe your perfect meal and ultimate dessert.

Perfect meal is anything that involves not being interrupted by the kids 😉 dessert is a gelato from the local gelato cafe.

My Nominees:

There are so many blogs that I could recommend. I could certainly list more than ten sites. But for now, here are some blogs that have continued to be a blessing to my blog experience. I hope that you’ll check them out. In no particular order, I nominate these blogs for a Liebster Award:

http://deepandwonderfulthoughts.wordpress.com

http://revelationsinwriting.wordpress.com

Nominees, whether or not you accept the award, my hope is that it will bring you much deserved additional attention to what you’re writing. If you choose to accept, here is a copy of the questions I was asked that I’d like for you to answer in your post:

1. What does writing do for you?
2. What writer feeds your soul? Why?
3. What is your favorite subject (category) to write about?
4. What post of yours means the most to you? Why?
5. What about you will be most instrumental in God’s eternal plan for you, whatever that may be?
